Stitch Sampler 2 CAL PART 1

Ready to begin this awesome throw blanket? For this section you will be using my Gio Stitch Design and my Drip Stitch Design to create the first 2 sections of the repeat. The finished blanket with this pattern should measure approximately 47” wide by 71” long.

Materials:
Big Twist Value Yarn(approx. 2830 yds total)
CA – Deep Red(approx. 1015 yds)
CB – White(approx. 635 yds)
CC – Forest Green (approx. 640 yds)
CD – Emerald Green(approx. 540 yds)
J(Boye 5.75mm) Hook
Scissors
Needle
If you are not using the same colors, you will need to choose 4 different colors and choose a color pattern you will stick with throughout the blanket.
Basic Abbreviations(US Terms):
SK = Skip
sts = Stitches
ST = Stitch
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
Each section will also include additional abbreviations.
To begin CH 165 with CA
SECTION 1: GIO STITCH
More Abbreviations:
FPSC = Front Post Single Crochet
FLO = Front Loop Only
BLO = Back Loop Only
Notes: I've created a video to explain the “place 1 FPSC around the 2 DC sts” step of the pattern for help. You can find it HERE
ROW 1: DC in the 4th CH from your hook & in the next ST, CH3, place 1 FPSC around the 2 DC sts, SK 1, repeat(DC in the next 2 sts, CH3, place 1 FPSC around the 2 DC sts, SK 1) 53 times, DC in the last ST(54 total clusters & a DC on either end)
ROW 2: CH 3(counts as your first ST) & turn, repeat(place 2 DC in the CH 3 gap, CH3, place 1 FPSC around the 2 DC sts, SK 1) 54 times, DC in the top of your beginning CH 3
ROWS 3-8: Repeat ROW 2
ROW 9: CH 3(counts as your first ST) & turn, place 2 SC in the CH 3 gap, repeat(CH 1, place 2 SC in the CH 3 gap) 53 times, DC in the top of your beginning CH 3(163)
SECTION 2: DRIP STITCH
More Abbreviations:
FLO = Front Loop Only
BLO = Back Loop Only
Change to CB
ROW 10: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC in the first ST, repeat(HDC FLO, HDC BLO, HDC in the CH gap) 53 times, HDC FLO, HDC BLO, HDC in the top of your beginning CH 3(163)
ROW 11: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in the first ST, repeat(SC in the next 2 sts, CH 1/SK 1)53 times, SC in the last 3 sts(163)
ROW 12: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC in the first ST, repeat(HDC FLO, HDC BLO, HDC in the CH gap) 53 times, HDC FLO, HDC BLO, HDC in the last ST(163)
ROW 13: REPEAT ROW 11
Change to CC
ROW 14: REPEAT ROW 12
