Loopy Hairband FREE Pattern

My Kiddos are constantly asking me to create more goodies for their babies. To fill their most recent request I created this super cute headband. This quick scrap buster project can be made to different sizes so momma & baby can be equally adorable!
I recommend using a light solid color and a variegated yarn held together. I have a ton of Red Heart Gumdrop yarn hanging around here, however it seems to be discontinued(tragedy!!), but you can use any variegated you like.
Here's what you'll need to get started......
Materials:
Red Heart Yarns(approx. 24 yds total)
(I used Gumdrop yarn in Gelato & Red Heart Classic yarn in White)
H(Boye 5mm) Hook
Scissors
Needle
Abbreviations(US Terms):
ST = Stitch
SL = Slip Stitch
SP = Space
SK = Skip
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
To begin working with both yarns held together, leave about a 12” starting tail for your tie.
ROW 1: CH 4, DC in the 4th CH from the hook
You will be repeating this next section for the rest of the pattern:
place 5 SC around the DC (working downwards),
*SK over the tail for the first time through
place 5 SC around the CH (working upwards), SL to your first SC (creates a circle), CH 3, DC in the same ST
Continue the pattern until you reach your desired length, each loop should measure about 1.25” wide. For the 18” doll band I did 7 loops. On your final ring, stop after you SL to your first SC. Cut and tie off your yarn leaving a 12” tail. Use the tails for a tie.
