Icicle Coaster Pattern

Looking for something to whip up quick to add to your holiday decor or to build up holiday craft show stock? Check out this super cute coaster you can easily create tons of with your scrap colors and a skein of white!

I created this stitch design earlier this year for a hat and have created multiple things with it since. Even my husband got a new back pillow from this one.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO GET STARTED.........

Materials:

Red Heart Super Saver (approx. 20 yds total)

CA = White(15)

CB = Your choice(5)

I(5.25 mm) Hook

Scissors

Needle

Abbreviations(US Terms):

SK = Skip

sts = Stitches

ST = Stitch

SL= Slip Stitch

CH = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

BLO = Back Loop Only

NOTES: Finished measurement should be approximately 4.5” across.

To begin create a Magic Ring with CA

ROUND 1: place 12 HDC in the Magic Ring, SL to your beginning HDC to connect

ROUND 2: CH1(does not count as a ST), place 2 HDC in each ST around, SL to your beginning HDC to connect(24)

ROUND 3: CH1(does not count as a ST), repeat(2 HDC, CH1/SK1) 12 times, SL to your beginning HDC to connect(36)

Change to CB

ROUND 4: CH1(does not count as a ST), repeat(2 HDC BLO, HDC BLO in the next ST, DC in the skipped ST of round 2) 12 times, SL to your beginning HDC to connect(48)

NOTE: the “ DC in the skipped ST of round 2” is a spike stitch.

Change to CA, cut & tie off CB

ROUND 5: CH1(does not count as a ST), repeat(2 HDC BLO in the first ST, HDC BLO in the next 3 sts) 12 times, SL to your beginning SC to connect(60)

Cut, tie off, & weave in your ends.
