Fall Fun Hangings Crochet Pattern

I LOVE FALL!!! The weather, the smells, the decorations, the EVERYTHING!! When the amazing Tasha from Stardust Gold Crochet told me about her Autumn Harvest Blog Hop she was hosting I knew I had to come up with something super cute just for her.

FALL FUN HANGINGS

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO GET STARTED......

Materials:

Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek(approx. 30 yds each)

H(5mm) Hook

Scissors

Needle

Fiber Fill Stuffing

Jute Twine

Abbreviations(US Terms):

SK = Skip

sts = Stitches

ST = Stitch

SL= Slip Stitch

CH = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

DEC = Decrease

CA = Color A, CB = Color B, CC = Color C

NOTES: I used up my scrap yarns to make these. Any WW#4/Aran/10ply yarn should work fine. CA, CB, & CC are completely up to you, use up what you have on hand. Finished item should measure approx. 4” tall.

*READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ALL THE WAY THROUGH BEFORE BEGINNING!!

Scarecrow Hat Brim:

To begin CH 10 with CB, leave a long tail to use to attach

ROW 1: SC in the 2nd CH from your hook and in each ST across(9)

ROW 2: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, repeat(2SC, SC) 4 times, 2 SC in the last ST(14)

ROW 3: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(14), cut, tie off, & weave in your end

BODY(make 2):

To begin CH 18 with CA

ROW 1: SC in the 2nd CH from your hook and in each ST across(17)

ROW 2: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(17)

ROW 3: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SK the first ST, SC in the next 14 sts, DEC

ROW 4: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(15)

ROW 5: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SK the first ST, SC in the next 12 sts, DEC

ROW 6: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(13)

For Candy Corn change to CB

ROW 7: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SK the first ST, SC in the next 10 sts, DEC

ROW 8: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(11)

For the scarecrow change to CB

ROW 9: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SK the first ST, SC in the next 8 sts, DEC

ROW 10: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(9)

ROW 11: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SK the first ST, SC in the next 6 sts, DEC

ROW 12: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(7)

For Candy Corn change to CC

ROW 13: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SK the first ST, SC in the next 4 sts, DEC

ROW 14: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(5)

ROW 15: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SK the first ST, SC in the next 2 sts, DEC

ROW 16: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(3)

Scarecrow Instructions:

FIRST PANEL attach the hat brim to ROW 9, and hand stitch a face on the center of the CA portion.

SECOND PANEL leave LONG tails when you change colors after ROW 8 to use for sewing the 2 panels together

After completing both panels whip stitch the 2 panels(wrong sides together) using the corresponding colors. STOP before closing completely and add a bit of stuffing careful not to over stuff. Hide your final tail inside. Attach your Jute twine to the top corners.

Candy Corn Instructions:

BOTH PANELS leave LONG tails when you change colors after ROWS 6 & 12 to use for sewing the 2 panels together

After completing both panels whip stitch the 2 panels(wrong sides together) using the corresponding colors. STOP before closing completely and add a bit of stuffing careful not to over stuff. Hide your final tail inside. Attach your Jute twine to the top corners.
