Fall Fun Coasters Pattern

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

One of my most favorite people that I get to call my sister gave me a super awesome coffee mug for my birthday this year so of course I needed to make a coaster to go with it to share with you all!

I'd been working on a few different things with my tethered stitch pattern & decided to continue the streak. A minor tweak to the pattern & some well-placed color changes later and I had the perfect accent to my new mug.

I couldn't stop there either. My big sister also got me one that fits me perfectly, so I decided to create a smaller version to match that one too!

Let's just say I have a bit of enthusiasm for a great coffee mug. So now I get to share these mugs and coaster patterns with all of you. The ad free PDF download version of this pattern includes both the large & small designs, but also includes the multiples needed to adapt this version of the tethered stitch to other sizes too.

Here's what you'll need to get started...........

Materials:
Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Yarn
LARGE: CA=Bruschetta, CB=Brownie, CC=Wheat, CD=Cream
(approx. 35 yds total)
SMALL: CA = Burgundy, CB = Sage, CC = Brownie, CD = Wheat
(approx. 25 yds total)
J(5.75mm) Hook
Scissors
Needle
4 Buttons: approx. 15mm for the large & 10mm for the Small

Abbreviations(US Terms):
SK = Skip
sts = Stitches
ST = Stitch
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet

NOTES:
- Finished coasters should measure approx. 5.5” by 5” for the Large & 4.75” by 4” for the Small.
- Be careful not to strangle your chain 2s. Make sure they are the same width as the 2 skipped sts when working rows 2 & 3 and their repeats.
- The “DC in the skipped SC ST, DC in the next skipped SC ST” are spiked sts.
