Drip Stitch Washcloth Crochet Pattern

Wanna learn a new stitch? I created this one a while back to make a hat for my daughter and just fell in love with it. I've been slowly working on a new washcloth crochet patterns E-Book and decided to add this one to the lineup.








Here's what you'll need to get started.......


Materials:

Mainstays 100% Cotton Yarn(approx. 70 yds total)

CA (approx. 48 yds)

CB (approx. 22 yds)

G(Boye 4.25mm) Hook

Scissors

Needle


Abbreviations(US Terms):

SK = Skip

sts = Stitches

ST = Stitch

SL= Slip Stitch

CH = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

FLO = Front Loop Only

BLO = Back Loop Only

DC = Double Crochet


NOTES:

- You can adapt this pattern to any size by chaining any multiple of 3 plus 2.

- Finished washcloth with this pattern should measure approx. 8.5” wide by 7.5” tall.


To begin CH 35 with CA

ROW 1:(right side) SC in the 2nd CH from your hook & in each CH across(34 total sts)


ROW 2: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in the first ST, repeat(SC in the next 2 sts, CH 1/SK 1)10 times, SC in the last 3 sts(34 sts)


ROW 3: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in the first ST, repeat(SC FLO, SC BLO, HDC in the CH gap) 10 times, SC FLO, SC BLO, SC in the last ST(34 sts)


ROW 4: REPEAT ROW 2


Change to CB

ROW 5: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 6: REPEAT ROW 2


Change to CA

ROW 7: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 8: REPEAT ROW 2

ROW 9: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 10: REPEAT ROW 2

ROW 11: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 12: REPEAT ROW 2


Change to CB

ROW 13: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 14: REPEAT ROW 2


Change to CA

ROW 15: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 16: REPEAT ROW 2

ROW 17: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 18: REPEAT ROW 2

ROW 19: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 20: REPEAT ROW 2


Change to CB

ROW 21: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 22: REPEAT ROW 2


Change to CA

ROW 23: REPEAT ROW 3

ROW 24: REPEAT ROW 2

ROW 25: REPEAT ROW 3


ROW 26: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(34 sts)


TRIM:

CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in each ST across(34), CH 1,

ROTATE to work along the row ends, SC in the end of each ROW(26), CH 1,

ROTATE to work along the starting CH, SC in each CH across(34), CH 1,

ROTATE to work along the row ends, SC in the end of each ROW(26), CH 1,

SL to your beginning SC to connect. Cut, tie off & weave in your ends.
